    Why Shred

    The Facts Learn The Risks
    Legislation It's The Law
What To Shred Shred It All

Shred South carries full general liability, professional liability including data breach, identity theft resolution and professional errors and ommissions. We are certified by the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID) to provide on-site destruction of printed and paper media, non-paper media and destruction of computer hard drives. We adhere to the strictest security standards so you can be confident your confidential records are handled appropriately. Our certification actually helps your business satisfy due diligence requirements specified in the federal and state privacy laws, including HIPAA, FACTA, the “Red Flag” Rules and the NC Identity Theft Protection Act.

The majority of identity theft involves non-electronic documents, not internet-based.

Shred South now offers on-site hard drive destruction services. The only way to ensure that confidential information cannot be retrieved from a hard drive that has reached its capacity or any other type of media is to use an E media destruction service.

"Dumpster diving" is a real threat. Reporters, investigators and criminals alike use your trash for their benefit.

Most identity theft occurs by an employee or someone you know.

Just because you own a shredder doesn't make you and your company safe. The shredded materials from an office shredder can be put back together with relative ease and just shows dumpster divers what to take.

Destroying company and personal documents protects your company's image, finances and privacy.

Employees shouldn't be burdened with the time-consuming and high-responsibilty task of shredding valuable office documents. Besides, some shredders can't handle certain materials or the volumes necessary.

Shredding internally shows no record of compliance and due diligence.

Shredding not only properly destroys confidential materials, but is also helpful to the environment by recycling paper.

Most identity theft occurs by an employee or someone you know. By destroying paper records you decrease the chance of those documents falling into the wrong hands, or being picked out of the trash. Shred it all...individually identifiable health information, financial information, Social Security Numbers or Taxpayer ID's, driver license, passport numbers, checking account numbers, savings account numbers, debit card/credit card numbers, PIN's, company confidential information, patents, trade secrets, etc.

Destroying company and personal documents protects your company's image, finances and privacy. This includes electronic documents. With computers replacing paper documents the protection is still needed. Hard drives and computer disk need to be destroyed in the same fashion as paper documents.

Off- Spec Products. Protect your company by destroying all proprietary materials that may contain a logo or other information that you would not want to get into a competitors hands or a secondary market. Shred South has assisted companies by shredding items such as jackets, uniforms and even tents that could have fallen into the wrong hands had they not been destroyed.
